A woman deported on the flight that Australian Home Affairs minister Peter Dutton described as "taking out the trash" says that people like her could have a lot to offer New Zealand, if given a chance.
Taryn O'Dowd lived in Australia for 32 years before she was deported on the flight which left Brisbane on the 17th of February.
She is now the subject of a now-infamous report by Nine News that saw reporter Jordan Fabris hectoring deportees as they were marched across the tarmac.
Ms O'Dowd spoke to Philiipa Tolley.
