Russia's traditional Victory Day parade has taken place in Moscow overnight.
Under president Vladimir Putin, the day has become the central pillar of national image of Russia as a military superpower.
At the parade, Putin said the country will firmly defend its national interests - denoucing the return of what he calls "Russiaphobia".
Putin oversaw the parade at Moscow's Red Square, which marks the 76th anniversary of victory in World War II.
He was accompanied by more than 12,000 troops and weaponry.
