Queenstown business owners 'gutted' by rugby loss

From Morning Report, 8:18 am on 28 May 2021

There's been tears from business owners in Queenstown after the resort town lost its chance to host a trans-Tasman rugby game this weekend.

The Melbourne-based Rebels had moved to Sydney this week in the hope of flying to New Zealand on Saturday.

However, the worsening outbreak in Victoria and the extension of a travel pause means they're stranded in Australia.

Queenstown Chamber of Commerce chief executive Ruth Stokes says it's not welcome news.

She spoke to Corin Dann.
