There's been tears from business owners in Queenstown after the resort town lost its chance to host a trans-Tasman rugby game this weekend.
The Melbourne-based Rebels had moved to Sydney this week in the hope of flying to New Zealand on Saturday.
However, the worsening outbreak in Victoria and the extension of a travel pause means they're stranded in Australia.
Queenstown Chamber of Commerce chief executive Ruth Stokes says it's not welcome news.
