Receding floodwaters reveal the scale of damage

Farmers near burst stop banks in Mid Canterbury are beginning to find out the true cost of a one-in-a-hundred year rain event.

Receding floodwaters have revealed devastating damage, piled up debris and waterlogged winter feed, buildings and machinery.

The Rooney family, who own two farms on the outskirts of Ashburton, are among the worst hit .
