Thirty-thousand nurses will strike for eight hours on Wednesday after rejecting a second pay offer in their current round of collective bargaining.
The Nurse's Organisation says nurses are leaving the profession because of understaffing and the impact that's having on working conditions and they want a better deal.
The National Party says the recently announced restructure of DHBs should be put on hold until the industrial dispute is sorted out.
