The Returned and Services Association says New Zealand Defence Force personnel are not being recognised by the Queen's Birthday Honours in the way they once were.
Research by an RSA member has revealed a decline since 2006 in the total number of staff awarded, and the status of those awards.
RSA National President BJ Clark says he is seeking an explanation as to why honours recognition has changed - and the rationale behind "devaluing service".
