Police apologise to NZTA over account of roadworker death

From Morning Report, 7:43 am on 16 June 2021

The Police have apologised to the Transport Agency over their account of what happened after a roadworker's death in Wellington.

Their original account showed police wanted an urgent ban on a type of truck handbrake that failed, but the agency took a long time to do this.

This prompted the man's family to label the agency careless and callous.
