The Ports of Auckland has agreed to allow a foreign fishing vessel with two Covid-19 infected crew to use its quarantine anchorage.
The Viking Bay, with 20 crew on board, is off the Taranaki coast after being denied permission to dock in New Plymouth.
A spokesperson for Ports of Auckland says the ship won't come into port, but will anchor near Rangitoto Island.
The Ministry of Health and Customs declined Morning Report's requests for an interview.
