Former trade negotiator reassures exporters over China

A former trade negotiator is reassuring exporters they're unlikely to face any significant backlash from China which is denying accusations of state-sponsored cyber attacks.

The Government has joined a grouping of United States allies blaming China for sponsoring cybercriminal activity around the globe.

Charles Finny as a lead negotiator of the China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement in 2008.

He told political reporter Katie Scotcher he'd be surprised if there are serious ramifications.
