A New Zealander trying to move home from Australia says the news that red zone flights are returning is a glimmer of hope, but doubts she'll get an MIQ room for months.
Flights from some cities will restart in September. Jessica, who didn't want her last name used due to the vitriol often directed towards overseas Kiwis, says they've been trying to return after 10 years in Australia but haven't been able to.
They had to sell a house and cars and ship their belongings, which didn't line up with the few months of the bubble being open.
Jessica told reporter Jordan Bond there's now some hope - but it's reliant on a highly in-demand MIQ spot opening up.
