Covid-19: Judith Collins wants rapid antigen testing brought in

From Morning Report, 7:26 am on 8 September 2021

The National Party says rapid testing for Covid-19 would be particularly useful for testing patients presenting at hospitals and essential workers crossing alert level borders.

Judith Collins told Morning Report that rapid testing is not currently in use in New Zealand - but she wants it brought in.

"It's used overseas, it's used in just about every other country, and it would have been really helpful say in Middlemore."

She says because saliva testing is less invasive than the nasal swab more people will be likely to get tested.
