Auckland factories are keen to get their machinery moving again, and believe they can do so safely.
Some warehouses are overflowing with building materials that can't be distributed during alert level 4 lockdown, despite severe shortages around the country.
Metro Performance Glass chief executive Simon Mander said some of their products have to be produced in Auckland and are now running low.
