Twenty years ago, New Zealanders woke to the news that America was under attack.
The skies were clear and blue one minute, then full of debris, fire and absolute chaos the next, when 19 militants associated with the Islamic extremist group al Qaeda hijacked four airplanes and killed almost 3,000 people.
It was a day of terror which changed the world forever.
