More than 5000 school students studying for the Cambridge International Exams are not getting any special treatment despite the lockdowns this year.
The first of their exams starts in October while Auckland is still in alert level 3 and students who miss any exams will have to get a grade based on teachers' assessment of their work earlier in the year.
Year 13 student Stella Lynch told education correspondent John Gerritsen some students are relying on the results to get into competitive university courses.
Universities New Zealand says it is talking to Cambridge Assessment International Education about lowering the university entry requirement for students with Cambridge qualifications.
