Auckland Hospital is planning to deal with an average of six Covid-19 deaths a week next year, even with a 90 percent vaccination rate.
Rapid work is underway at Auckland District Health board to prepare for life with the virus when the country's borders eventually open up.
It's working on an assumption that there'll be far more cases than any outbreak so far.
