Police still haven't said how many people have died in the crash that closed part of State Highway 1 north of Wellington for several hours. The crash, involving a truck and another vehicle, just south of Levin, happened just after 3pm on Tuesday. State Highway 1 was closed in both directions for several hours. Horowhenua Mayor Bernie Wanden says the stretch of State Highway 1 between Levin and Otaki is notorious and dangerous. He spoke to Guyon Espiner.
