Women in Sport Aotearoa chief executive Rachel Froggatt says Te Kura Ngata-Aerengamate is not alone in experiencing bullying and mental health issues on her team.
Black Ferns coach Glenn Moore allegedly told Ngata-Aerengamate she didn't deserve to be on the team, and was "picked only to play the guitar".
In a social media post the player says Moore's comments left her struggling with anxiety and low self-esteem, with his comments haunting her as she'd play.
Her career with the Black Ferns became an eight-year mental health battle, and on the most recent tour she broke down and finally spoke out.
Froggatt spoke to Susie Ferguson.
