Oranga Tamariki underspent funding meant to protect and help child victims of sexual violence

From Morning Report, 7:46 am on 17 December 2021

Oranga Tamariki failed to spend millions of dollars especially set aside to protect and help child victims of sexual violence.

Figures obtained by RNZ show it set aside $11 million but only spent $7 million, $4 million less than was budgeted.

This suggests child support services got almost 40 percent less than they could have

The revelation comes on the heels of the launch of the Government's national strategy to combat family and sexual violence.
