The Australian Navy plans to go ahead with delivering relief to Tonga after reports that 23 people on board its ship HMAS Adelaide have tested positive for Covid-19.
It says it is confident it can deliver the much-needed aid to local authorities in Tonga without transmitting the virus.
In Auckland, 25 containers of supplies will be shipped out today - relief for families devastated by the volcano and tsunami that hit the Kingdom on 15 January.
Aotearoa Tonga Relief Committee co-chair and government MP Jenny Salesa was up late packing the containers at Mount Smart Stadium. She spoke to Susie Ferguson.
