At one minute to midnight the country moves into its second phase of tackling Omicron daily cases hit almost 1000.
The shift will mean shorter isolation periods, increased use of rapid antigen tests and more relaxed contact tracing.
With case numbers escalating, people are being urged to prepare for the looming disruption.
