On the morning of Saturday 12 February, Jeremy Glenn of The Upbeats woke up to a rather exciting out-of-the-blue email.
The Christchurch drum-and-bass producer learnt that a track he'd written with his Upbeats partner Dylan Jones was to be in a trailer for the upcoming Marvel film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
And not only that, later that day, the trailer would air at the Super Bowl - the annual American football league playoff.
This year, 112 million people watched the Super Bowl live and the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer has over 38 million YouTube views.

The Upbeats track featured in the trailer is called 'Pitdiving' and it was written in collaboration with the Manchester movie trailer production company Evolving Sound.
Two years ago, The Upbeats jumped at an invitation to make an album of movie trailer tracks with the composers from Evolving Sound, Glenn says, and this was one of them.
Although the tracks were not written with specific films in mind, they did have to have a certain "typically upbeat" sound, he says.
"[Evolving Sound] then gave it to their composers to add traditional trailer tropes to that… because trailers are quite a specific formatted thing."
The Upbeats' latest album Not Forever came out in August 2021.
