Covid-19: Tow truck spokesperson on moving blockade

From Morning Report, 8:10 am on 17 February 2022

A towing company owner says it would take two dozen trucks working unimpeded for a day or so to clear the more than 400 vehicles blockading streets around Parliament.

Police confirmed yesterday they have secured commitments from companies outside the region to help if the decision is made to start removing vehicles.

National Recovery Alliance - a group of seven Auckland towing companies - spokesperson Chris Ratcliffe says he is aware of firms around the country who will heed the call.

He estimates the police might just get that needed number of towies interested in doing the work.
