Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson have scored nearly 15,000 test runs and combined for more than 40 centuries - but New Zealand will be without both for the series against South Africa starting in Christchurch this morning.
The prolific pair will miss the tests at Hagley Oval.
Regular captain Williamson is still nursing an elbow injury while Taylor has of course retired from the longest form.
