An Auckland GP says she feels like she's in battle, and testing centres have described chaos as Omicron charges through the city.
There were nearly 4000 new cases in Auckland yesterday - a number modellers had not been expecting for another few weeks.
Those on the frontline hope the move to phase 3 of the Covid-19 response will help ease the pressure - but say yesterday it only caused confusion with poor communication from the top.
