The families of the 29 men who died in the Pike River mine disaster are hopeful the police investigation is getting closer to finding out who is responsible for the deaths.
The police this week informed families that images taken down a re-drilled borehole showed the remains of two more bodies -- in total, the remains of eight people have been found over the past two years.
The police said the high quality images they had collected would go towards their ongoing criminal investigation.
