From Tuesday bars and restaurants can welcome back the unvaccinated minority - the vaccine pass system is being dropped.
Just 3 percent of eligible people aged 12 and over in Aotearoa have had no doses of the vaccine.
It could be a boon for struggling businesses - but vaccinated people remain hunkered down at home to avoid the virus at large.
