Investigations are underway into the shooting by police of a 22-year-old man on State Highway three north of New Plymouth on Saturday night.
It's the fifth fatal shooting by police in Taranaki since 2000.
Police shot 22-year-old Kaoss Price after he rammed a police car. He died at the scene.
The police have declined to be interviewed - as has the President of the Police Association Chris Cahill.
