Possible breakthrough made for predicting volcano eruptions

Identifying the seismic frequency pattern that occurs in the days leading up to a volcanic eruption could mean a break through in forecasting eruptions and preventing loss of life.

Ground breaking research, by the universities of Canterbury, Auckland and Brussels has been published in the international journal Nature Communications.

Canterbury University civil and natural resources engineering senior lecturer Dr David Dempsey spoke to Corin Dann.
