The Ministry of Health is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on legal fees to fight families that care for their disabled children.
Three cases, all of which still have a long way to run through the court system, have so far cost the government more than $600,000.

The Employment Court has already found that the Ministry is the employer, which could mean compensation for lost wages and holiday pay.
