Cleaner travelling across Auckland city's harbour is on the horizon.
Two electric ferries, each holding 200 people, will operate across all major inner and mid-harbour services from 2024.
The government is spending $27 million to help build the ferries, with each vessel displacing approximately 1000 tonnes of carbon emissions every year.
