The country's consumer watchdog is skeptical about a move by supermarket chain Countdown to freeze the price of some products.
From Monday, Countdown will freeze the price of more than 500 essential products to help give New Zealanders more certainty about food prices as winter approaches.

Consumer New Zealand chief executive Jon Duffy said it sounds good, but is a temporary halt only in a profitable sector.
He spoke to Susie Ferguson.
