Expert repeats call for mask use as Covid-19 case numbers rise

Latest figures show there are more than 53,000 active cases of Covid-19 in the community.

This takes New Zealand's total of recorded cases since the start of the pandemic to well over one million.

The country is fast approaching 1000 deaths. Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says the number of cases currently being reported is likely to be half of the true number.

So, with these rising numbers do we need stricter measures to tackle the virus?
