Yesterday we reported on emails showing firefighters and senior managers at odds over the risks posed by a dodgy firetruck which froze at a big house fire in Wellington.
Crews reported parking the large truck away from the blaze to protect themselves if it broke down.
It did break down, and so did its backup systems and a large hose, which the crew says compromised their firefighting efforts.
Now, one of the investigators looking into the fire at Kilbirnie says Fire and Emergency is trying to get the final report re-written.
