The Hutt Valley DHB's having an urgent meeting today about the future of Hutt Hospital's earthquake-prone Heretaunga Building.
It's a something of a last-ditch move before the DHB's decision making powers transfer to the new government organisation, Health New Zealand next month.
Included in the meeting agenda is a motion to immediately arrange a birthing facility in the area.
