Earthworks have begun this week on a cohousing development in Tākaka, aiming to build 100 houses across three neighbourhoods.
The project includes almost 10 hectares of parks and gardens in the small Golden Bay settlement.
Thirty homes have sold in the first neighbourhood, with just four to go.
