Japanese media are reporting their Prime Minister is considering a summit with New Zealand, Australia, and South Korea in a show of solidarity against a more assertive China.
All four countries have been invited to NATO's meeting in Madrid. Jacinda Ardern has said there'll be a range of meetings on the sideline, but any specifics are yet to be confirmed.
