Rocket Lab has successfully launched the NASA's CAPSTONE spacecraft from the Mahia Peninsula in Hawke's Bay.
It's the first step in NASA's mission to send humans back to the moon..
The launch happened at 9.55 last night. All going well the mission will get a small satellite into orbit around the moon paving the way for an orbiting space station there.
Morgan Bailey is Rocket Lab's Director of Communications and spoke to Morning Report.
