The National Party says the Government's move to make masks and rapid antigen tests free is sensible, but is questioning why it's taken so long.
Covid-19 Response Minister Ayesha Verrall and Director General of Health Ashley Bloomfield made the announcement yesterday afternoon.
They both declined interviews because they're on leave, and Te Whatu Ora's interim chief executive Margie Apa also declined to be interviewed.
National Party Covid-19 spokesperson Chris Bishop, who is on parental leave at the moment, did agree to an interview.
He spoke to Corin Dann.
