Heavy rain is hitting the South Island, as wild weather that yesterday wreaked havoc at the top of the country makes its way south.
Heavy rain warnings have been lifted across Northland and Coromandel - but it's the South Island now of concern.
Parts of the Ashburton River could see flooding to levels seen in last week's storm, which caused the river bank to burst.
