People booked with Air New Zealand over coming months are crossing their fingers they won't be among the thousands who will have their flights dropped as the airline deals with staff shortages.
The company says 100,000 customers will be affected when it cuts flights from its schedule so it can have more staff on standby to cover for illness.
Meanwhile those seeking refunds could face hours waiting to get through to its call centre.
