The government has announced the next steps in it plan to help strengthen Māori media over the three years.
Minister for Māori Development Willie Jackson says Māori media have a particularly vital role in the revitalisation of te reo Māori.
It's hoped one million New Zealanders will be able to speak the language by 2040.
Jackson spoke to Susie Ferguson.
