New Zealand Supercars driver Shane van Gisbergen has unofficially taken the mantle of 'The King of Pukekohe' from Greg Murphy, after winning the final race ever at the Auckland track.
Van Gisbergen says yesterday's win rates as one of the greatest achievements of his career.
In July it was announced that motorsport would lose the use of Pukekohe Park Raceway in April next year, after hosting Supercars racing there since 2001.
