Wellington's mayoral candidates are considering ways to reshape the city centre, with fewer cars, congestion charging, and fewer on-street parks.
Tory Whanau, Paul Eagle and Andy Foster expressed support for the measures during a mayoral debate yesterday on Morning Report, while being conscious of wanting to bring businesses back to empty stores and offices.
Retail New Zealand's Greg Harford says businesses will be concerned with the plan, when public transport isn't up to it and won't reliably bring people into the city.
