Preliminary results from the so-called referendums in four occupied Ukrainian regions are coming in.
To no one's surprise, the initial count reportedly shows more than 97 percent of the ballots in favour of joining the Russian Federation.
Ukraine and the West have denounced the ballots as a sham, and say they won't recognise the results.
It's widely anticipated Russia will announce the annexation of those occupied areas in the coming days.
