Wairarapa farmers worried by forecast

The usual sights of lambs and flowers blossoming for spring has been swapped out for snow this morning for farmers in many places. 

The late season polar blast hit Southland yesterday, but Wairarapa coast is next in line. 

Snow fell in the region overnight, giving farmers something else to worry about on top of already sodden pastures.

David Hayes is the president of the Wairarapa Federated Farmers branch, and he has a farm just north of Masterton.

He spoke to Susie Ferguson
