One of the country's top experts in Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder is back before a tribunal today facing charges of wrongly prescribing Ritalin and other drugs more than 5000 times.
Tony Hanne is a well known GP but - like all GPs - can't prescribe ADHD medication without getting sign off from a psychiatrist or a paediatrician.
He now faces misconduct and malpractice charges for doing that anyway but is set to argue the law risks leaving very vulnerable patients and their families without help.
Health correspondent Rowan Quinn has been at the tribunal.
