Concerns emissions pricing could affect indigenous farmers

Māori leaders are concerned a new emissions pricing scheme could disproportionately affect indigenous farmers.

The government will require farmers to pay for their on-farm emissions from 2025.

But high prices for methane could sting Māori farmers, who operate up to 25 percent of sheep and beef farmland.

Federation of Māori Authorities chair Traci Houpapa spoke to Kim Hill.
