A former Auckland councillor who liaised with Watercare has rubbished the incoming mayor's demands for the water management company to immediately stop work on Three Waters.
Mayor Wayne Brown is fighting changes by central government, saying he doesn't want to pour council money into what he calls a "doomed" proposal.
He has again refused an interview with Morning Report.
But former councillor Linda Cooper says he cannot just rip up the groundwork done on the Government-directed water reforms.
