Epidemiologist Michael Baker says officials should be giving better advice to people on tools they can use to stop the spread of Covid-19.
Cases numbers are up about 60% on September weekly averages, with hospitalisations and deaths also increasing.
Professor Baker says that's likely down to waning immunity, and an increasingly social populace as summer draws near.
Hence he thinks it's time for some clear advice on how to socialise safely. He spoke to Corin Dann.
