Fuel companies will soon have a closer eye kept on them with the Commerce Commission taking on new powers to regulate unruly pricing.
The government has also announced that fuel companies will be required to stock a month's worth of petrol to protect prices from spiking during global emergencies.
A third announcement extended the deadline for suppliers to introduce biofuels to customers by, which will be April 2024.
